Chef Lin is the mastermind behind the food you enjoy at both Ichiban and Kalbi Ichiban. Originally from Taiwan, he came to America for the first time as a visitor and found the food much different from what he had grown up with. Chef Lin traveled all over the world tasting and admiring different cuisines and expanding his palate.
During his travels he met his wife Jean, who is an integral part of the restaurant creation and operation. A foodie herself, Jean also has a love for a beautiful, delicious cocktail. She combines unique flavors to create a one-of-a-kind beverage to compliment anything you order from the menu.
The Ichiban restaurants came to be when Chef Lin decided to bring all the wonderful flavors he has sampled together and put a western spin on them. He worked tirelessly to perfect the flavors and presentations to provide a unique dining experience for Pensacola. His culinary skills allowed him to keep the integrity of the original flavors he tasted from around the globe while creating something entirely unique and new. The food you taste in their restaurants today is a culmination of his creativity and diverse knowledge of Asian cuisine.
